Privacy Policy

At YMU we collect different types of information about our users for four main reasons:

  1. To analyse individual couple's relationships with the aim of improving their relationship.
  2. To provide an interactive web site where email is used to communicate with the users and improve the efficacy of the tool.
  3. To provide academic material for relationship research in the form of aggregate data.
  4. To help us to improve the service we offer.
Our principles

We are absolutely committed to protecting your privacy. Our policy can be summarised in one sentence: we will not share your information with others.

We have established the following three principles:

  1. We will respect your email privacy. You will only receive email from YMU in relation to the analysis process.
  2. We will not share any individual user details (including your email address) to any third party.
  3. We will only use aggregate statistics about our users for academic research.
What information do we collect?

We collect information on our users through registration, a set of demographic questions and an inventory questionnaire.

The minimum information we need to register a couple is a couple name (which need not be your real name), an email address, and a password per partner. We also ask some further, voluntary questions so we can gain a clearer understanding of the demographic spread of our users. In addition the inventory questionnaire will only capture information pertinent to your relationship for the purpose of improving your understanding of your relationship.
